WEMI & WEMY Christian Family Radio's 12th Annual Christmas Care Campaign will take place November 14 - December 9, 2009 and will benefit at least 40 local crisis agencies and emergency rooms.

Area residents are invited to fill a wrapped shoe box with NEW gifts such as toys, dolls, games, mittens, or candy for someone in need. Be sure and wrap top and bottom of gift separately so that agency/ER staff can peek inside to match gift with person to receive it. Place a sticker on top of the gift indicating age and gender of recipient, and drop boxes off at Festival Foods Stores in Green Bay, De Pere, Appleton, Oshkosh, and Fond du Lac or Pet Supplies "Plus" in Appleton. Culver's Frozen Custard in Darboy, area Christian book stores, and the Christian Family Radio studios are also serving as collection sites.

A 2008 thank you note reads . . . ““Late one night a frightened little boy who’d been abused was brought to our emergency room. When discharge time came he was told that he wouldn’t be going home, but would be staying with some nice people for a while. This was difficult for him. Then we gave him one of your Christmas Care gifts containing toy cars and a Disney Cars blanket. He was thrilled, exclaiming ‘Now I can sleep anywhere!’. Thanks” -ER Nurse, St. Mary’s Hospital

Last year more than 2,600 gifts were distributed to 40 shelters and emergency rooms from Fond du Lac to Green Bay. Schools, churches, scout troops, clubs, and businesses are encouraged to participate!
